Kayaking, Power Boating, and Fishing

Water Programs Director: Dan Dobyrn

Kayaking, power boating, and fishing are among the activities that are growing in popularity. Based on last years success and popularity of these events, the Club is facilitating the organization of a variety of outings and social gatherings to promote these activities.

Highlights

The Waterfront Program Director's role is to facilitate an

increased scope of OGYC activities for members interested in

cruising, power boating, fishing and kayaking.

Chris Tella is the Fleet Captain for Power Boating and Fishing. The second annual family fishing day was held on July 23rd with over 20 people participating.  Every child caught a fish ... and that is no fish story.

Kim Crocco is the Fleet Captain for Kayaking.  We introduced three highly successful Saturday morning kayak tours led by Greenwich Community Sailing.  In addition, kayak rendezvous were scheduled Tuesday evenings.  In addition, Paddleboarding was introduced this year with three GCS led events attended by over 20 OGYC members.  Next year we are thinking of hosting a kayaking event off site
