Cruising

Water Programs Director: Dan Dobyrn

A large number of members own sail and power boats large enough to overnight in one of many ports in Long Island or cruise up the Maine coast. Cruises are organized from May to September to explore Long Island Sound and to socialize and dine along the region’s beautiful coastline.

Highlights:

The Waterfront Program Director's role is to facilitate an

increased scope of OGYC activities for members interested in

cruising, power boating, fishing and kayaking.

The first cruise of the season was held Memorial Day weekend.  The first night was at Harlem YC on Friday night, followed by one group sailing down the east river and the other heading back to Long Island sound.  Thanks to Martin Waine (mwaine@optonline.net ) for coordinating this event.

If anyone else wants to help organize a cruise or just wants help publicizing it, just let Dan Dobryn know or post to the new Cruise Planning forum (see menu to the left).
